Youth Group Visits Loloma Home
Areligious youth group in Lami embarked on their first community service initiative by paying a visit to Loloma Home at Sabeto, Nadi, yesterday.
Shree Satsang Ramayan Mandali Youth group (SSRM Yuva) accompanied by SSRM family members took schoolbooks, stationery, school bags, groceries, toiletries, sanitary products and clothes for 16 resident children and 14 single mothers. The Yuva group spent three weeks of their school holidays collecting items and preparing personalised packs for each child.
The main aim of the visit was to encourage the ideal of selfless service among the youths and provide youths with an opportunity to spend time and share basic daily needs with the disadvantaged children and mothers.
Each youth member personally prepared the packs and school bags and wrote personal inspirational messages which they shared with the children at the home.
They spent time playing games, dancing and sharing stories with the residents of the home. Special morning tea and lunch was also prepared for the residents. The Head of the Home, Adi, was very appreciative of the gifts presented to the residents and the love and happy moments shared by the SSRM Yuva with them. It was late Christmas celebrations for the Loloma Home.
Shree Satsang Ramayan Mandali is always encouraging and organising activities for its youth group so that they are active in providing volunteer services when required, involved in community projects and theatrical traditional art.
