Chizuru Horiba enjoys discovering Fiji with her best friend Asuka Okasaka.
Ms Horiba is the Researcher/ Advisor at the Embassy of Japan in Fiji.
The best friends were on board the Captain Cook Cruises MV Reef Endeavour, four Night Yasawa Islands Cruise from December 28 to January 22.
They discovered the beauty of these westerly Fiji Island groups Mamanucas and Yasawa and cruises through some spectacular passages from Malolo Lailai to the northern Yasawas. The cruise visits the islands of Waya, Naviti, Sacred Islands, the private island of Tivua, the Sawa-l-Lau limestone caves and lagoon.
What’s one place you’d take every visitor to Fiji and why?
Natadola beach is the spot we have visited the most so far. We would definitely recommend to others because of its beauty and convenience in access from Suva.
We were also amazed by the marine life, under the sea when we snorkeled at near Yasawa islands and Taveuni.
It was a humbling experience, but made us eager to make an action to preserve them at the same time.
We respect all the Fijians efforts to protect the blue oceans; environment in a bigger scalenot only the coral and clam plantations that some islands have.
But also careful cinsiderations towards plastic usage and waste disposal that each of us use every day.
