‘Dedicated and Hardworking Racers Will Be Recognised’

Car racers who show dedication and hardwork towards car racing events last year will be recognised at the Pacific Energy awards night hosted by the Fiji Motorsports Association (FMA).
The awards night is scheduled for January 30 at the Central Cuisine restaurant at Sports City along Laucala Bay.
FMA President Raizal Haniff said the awards night also marks the first event on the association calendar for 2021.
Mr Haniff said the association will also hold its annual general meeting (AGM) soon after the awards night to iron out plan for the year.
“This will also kick off our calendar event and will be followed by the AGM on January 31 which will be held at the Fiji Disabled People’s Federation at Brown Street at 4pm,” Mr Haniff said.
“In the AGM, we will be discussing the racing dates for the whole year and also to advise the members the plans that we have for the year,” he said.
“The AGM is also an opportune time for
members to get together and discuss their various schedules so that we can properly organise the entire car racing dates for the year.
“We are also launching the first car show for the year scheduled for February and will be held at Rishikul Sanantan College ground, more information on this will be available on our Facebook page,” said Mr Haniff.
Mr Haniff acknowledged the support of Pacific Energy throughout 2020 and this year. He said there are 32 awards up for grabs which marks the achievements of race clubs.
“Some of the awards will be the greatest number of clubs that have won awards throughout the year, Pacific Energy winner which is one of the main awards – calculated by the points recorded from last year. Fastest time recorded for the year together with second place for male and female racer,” said Mr Haniff. Tickets for the awards night is selling at $25 per head.
