Come Home, Son: Mother Pleads
Christopher Kumar was reported missing since Tuesday, last week.
My son, if you are reading this, please come home! That’s the plea of Saroshni Kumar, calling out to her only son Christopher Kumar, to return home after he was reported missing six days ago.
Police are seeking assistance from members of the public on the whereabouts of
17-year-old Christopher. He was last seen at his home at Aladatta settlement in
Nadi last Tuesday.
Checks were made at likely places before he was reported missing at Nadi Police Station on Saturday. Mrs Kumar said her son had disliked some of the chores that she told him to do and he walked out of the house.
“When he doesn’t like anything, he will go to his friends in Nalovo or just go to the nearby bush and sit there alone. He always comes back in the afternoon, but now it has been six days since he left home.
“I felt bad because I knew he won’t be missing from home this long.
The 36-year-old mother said they had contacted family members and friends, but no one knew of
Christopher’s whereabouts. “When we called, they informed us that he was there with them. But for this time he was not at a place we thought he would be. That is why we reported it to the Police.”
“We are really worried for our only son. We just want him to know that we still love and care for him so much.
“No matter how much he disobeys us, he’s still our son. He is a good boy but a bit short tempered at times,” she said tearfully. Christopher had left school at
Year 9 and wanted to stay home. “We don’t mind if he is not schooling or doesn’t do any job. We just want him to be with us,” Ms Kumar said.
Christopher is 162cm tall, has dark complexion and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, with black shorts.
