Fijians are urged to take advantage of the free health screening and specials available at the Courts & Sports World “Health & Fitness” promotion.

The promotion, launched at the Courts Rodwell Road outlet in Suva yesterday, saw an influx of customers flocking in to have their free health check-up and counselling service from health attendants. Levuka resident, Timaleti Ramoli, 54, thanked Courts for providing the health service in-store making it convenient for customers.

She was in Suva for a few days and was lucky enough to be in the store yesterday morning to take advantage of the promotion.

“The last time I had my health check was last year and I am glad I came to Courts today to have my pressure and sugar checked. I hope they continue with this health promotion because it helps us ordinary citizens when they bring the services closer to us. It is more convenient,”

Ms Ramoli said.

Courts Marketing Director Anil Senewiratne said although the promotion was happening until February 28, they would be taking it across the country to all their

outlets.

He hopes to continue the promotion throughout the year to create more awareness and escalate the fight against Non-Communicable Diseases.

“I welcome the whole of Fiji to take advantage of this time to come down and participate in the health screening and check out the appliances we are demonstrating to promote healthy eating,” Mr Senewiratne

said.

“In this promotion we cover three parts; eating healthy, regular exercise and good rest. Today in this day and age, it is very important for people to look after their health, especially during the pandemic the most vulnerable group are those with NCDs.”

National Wellness Centre Health Promotion Officer Dr Nemaia Loga acknowledge Courts for the initative focussing on the importance of physical fitness and good healthy living despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are excited because this event contributes to the vision of the ministry that is captured in our five-year Strategic Plan (20202025) for a healthy population of Fiji, and our mission that we will work together, the ministry and its partners in health to empower Fijians to be able to achieve optimal health and well-being in their lifetime,” Dr Loga said.
