Schools Host Hilton Special for Easter Service
The story of Easter portrays unconditional love irrespective of the many differences that exist in a diverse world.
This was the strong message by the Christian Mission Fellowship International Primary and Secondary School as they hosted students and teachers of Hilton Special School in a moving Easter service on Thursday.
It was an Easter celebration that brought the two schools together, an ongoing initiative by the CMFI Schools for the past four years excluding the year 2020 due to the COVID-19 mass gathering restrictions.
CMFI Primary School Head Teacher Neori Cama said this year’s Easter Service was more meaningful as the main message was ‘God is love’.
“God loves us all, irrespective of race, your physical condition or whatever physical status of life that you are in, but we should know that Jesus died for us all,” Mr Cama said.
“Jesus included us, no one was left out when he carried that cross up Mount Calvary and that is why we have always been about inclusivity. We are so happy to have hosted the students from Hilton School today.”
Students from Hilton Special School took part in the worship service in music and dances.
A parent Laisani Koroiwasa said the invitation to be part of CMFI school’s Easter service was uplifting and gave them a sense of hope
and inclusiveness.
“I am thankful for today; we are always crying out to be included in other people’s lives,” she said.
“For years we have been in Hilton School and we hardly get invited to Easter Services like this, we have always hosted our own.
“But for CMFI to invite us, we are grateful. It has lifted our spirits and it gives us parents hope.”
