Company Grows and Adapts to Customers’ Needs

From humble beginnings, Parshottam Meghji started the P Meghji Group of Companies, with a small milk bar, video and liquor shop at the Marine Drive, Lautoka.
This was about 40 years ago.
His brothers Jayanti Meghji, Dinesh Meghji together with Romit Meghji took over and extended the wholesale arm of P Meghji Trading Limted 20 years ago.
The major resorts, hotels and supermarkets in Fiji are their top customers.
“Our current directorship consists of Jayanti Meghji, me and Shyam Meghji,” Mr Romit Meghji said.
Shyam joined the executive team in 2018 after studying and working in Singapore,” he said.
“The introduction of Shyam with his experience in Singapore has augured well with our goal to import quality foods and services from around the globe for our customers here.
“The family business has been a great experience with the company growing and getting involved in the expansion since we started diversifying.
“The family had been working together with shared responsibilities.
“We are a small team in terms of leading the business so we have a good understanding,” he said.
The company has also ventured into many other projects.
“We are one of the owners for Sheraton Resort and Spa, Tokoriki, Virtual Flex Pte Limited who does a lot of IT work, PM Construction Pte Limited who does construction work, Fresh Choice PTE Limited and many other asset management companies.
“This business is growing and adapting to suit the needs of our customers and partners as well. “As a family-owned and run business, we pride ourselves in ensuring that our service is world-class. “Assuring our partners that their deliveries are on time and products well-handled are our priority,” Mr Meghji said.
“Team building and lasting relationships are equally important to us.
“We also recognise great work and reward our staff accordingly. We are focused on employee retention, so our partners and customers get consistent quality service time and time again,” he said.
P Meghji now has 26 family members in total which includes sons, daughters-in-laws, brothers, grandson, granddaughters and great grandchildren.
