Big Boys Confirm Comeback In Next Drag Race
The next drag race is scheduled next week Sunday on April 11. This must be bigger than the first event as majority of the racers from last year have now confirmed their attendance next week.
So far seven have confirmed; they are the ones who were missing from the last event. Those making the comeback are racers: Sandeep Prakash, Satend Prasad, Hardik
Patel, Vicky Nath,
Lakshay Kellappan,
These big boys are definitely taking part in the next event. Our regular racers will be led by Ravin Nath.
As the season progresses, we will see a lot more excitement building up as there are still two more Ford cars that will be arriving in the country the next two weeks.
In the Annual General Meeting that we had earlier, we had introduced the new categories which include the 10 – 10.5 seconds, 10.5 – 11 seconds, 11 – 11.5, 11.5 – 12 seconds and so on.
The reason we introduced these categories was to create more competition amongst the participants. We had good performers in the last event, and we will continue this throughout the season.
Club inclusion in the association is another area the executives are looking at to implement.
We have been receiving feedback on this.
This basically means local clubs need to be registered under the association banner to participate. The clubs know very well there are prices worth $3000 that could be won if a particular club performs and they will be awarded at the awards night.
We have already seen a lot of movement within the members of the different clubs and this is to show how serious the club members are about the race.
The highest number of points that a club receives on the day in their category becomes the winner. positive
Nathaniel Mohammed memorial trophy
This trophy is dedicated and named after our late former executive who passed away three years ago.
We want to continue the legacy that he has left behind and we have dedicated this trophy to his name. The executives and volunteers of Fiji Motorsports Association (FMA) have also created a club within the association and have registered their names as patrol heads under the FMA banner. Majority of the executives are registered drivers.
Currently we have 10 registered clubs, and we will be finalising all the names by next week before the race. Every race club member needs to be registered with FMA before they can participate in the race.
Basic requirement to form a club is to have at least three full time drivers who take part in the Pacific Energy series.
There will be no grace period this time. More information on this can be obtained from our Fiji Motorsports Association Facebook page. Until we meet again next week, have a blessed week ahead.
