Fijian, who die in road accident in Aust, was kind, selfless

My niece was someone who was kind, loving, respectful, courageous, and selfless. She was someone who would make everyone feel at home and we would never see her angry because she was always smiling. Raijieli Buka Aunt of the late Ana Kaluva Soqovata Onorua

Ana Kaluva Soqovata Onorua was a kind and selfless person. This is how Raijieli Buka described her niece who died in a road accident in Nyngan, New South Wales in Australia on Wednesday.

The mother of one, had just turned 29 on Monday.

Ms Buka said: “We are still trying to come to terms with the fact that she is no more.

“I talked to her on her birthday to wish her and I didn’t know that would be the last time.

“When I was told about the accident, I couldn’t believe it. “My niece was someone who was kind, loving, respectful, courageous, and selfless. She was someone who would make everyone feel at home and we would never see her angry because she was always smiling.

“I miss her so much and wished that this was all a bad dream.”

Ms Onorua was married with a daughter.

She was travelling with her family when the accident happened. They live in Bourke, New South Wales, Australia. According to reports she died at the scene. Her husband, daughter and sister were airlifted to Westmead Hospital. “My niece was driving, and I was told that the tyre burst, and she veered off the road and crashed onto a tree,” Mrs Buka said.

“They migrated to Australia in 2013 and Ana is the oldest of two siblings.

“It breaks my heart to think of her daughter who is only six years old and how I wish I could hug her and tell her that everything is going to be fine, and we will meet her mother again one day in heaven.

“When my niece comes to Fiji, she would visit all her relatives and now we will be reminiscin­g memories, we all created with her.”

She was one of those in a vocal group who started Grace Teens in Labasa which eventually moved to Suva. Ms Onorua was also part of the group who launched Grace Symphony.
