Volivoli Beach Resort and Ra Divers Fiji team crowded the Rakiraki Hospital to get their COVID-19 vaccinations in a bid to lead the way for other hoteliers and locals in the Suncoast.

Well known as leaders in the dive tourism industry they kept that momentum going with their proactive approach towards ensuring safe and responsible tourism opens as soon as possible.

Volivoli Beach Resort’s Sales and Marketing

manager Simon Doughty said they understood the importance of being responsible if they wanted to get the tourism industry going.

“As Fiji’s Premier Dive Resort directly responsible for thousands of international divers flocking to our Fijian shores to experience diving Fiji’s number one dive region, the incredible Bligh Water each year we understand the importance of acting responsibility,” he said.

“Opening the borders is one thing, however, opening them in both a safe and economical way is another.”

“There is not one quick fix but many key steps we must take along the way.

“As proud ambassadors for tourism in Fiji and of course the safety and protection of the local community it is our responsibility to proactively do whatever we can to not only help generate a reboot of the tourism industry and economy but at the same time play a responsible role in protecting the health and safety of the entire community.

“Over the last few days and in close partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Rakiraki Hospital well over half the Resort’s team have received their first AstraZeneca vaccination.

“Logistically we have scheduled 20-team mem

bers per day over several days to receive their first round of vaccines and play their part in being responsible for protecting our community.”

Volivoli Beach Resort has also achieved compliance for CareFiji and Safe Travels accreditations. So each and every step is helping the economy and the health and safety of the broader community get back onto its feet.

“Together we can make a difference as we inch forward and show the world Fiji is a safe and location with an educated, knowledgeable and structured plan,” said Mr Doughty.
