Big Turnout A Good Sign

-

Bula and welcome to yet another Fiji Motorsports Association weekly update. The recent Pacific Energy Drag Race held at the Nanuku Aerodrome the past Sunday was a big success.

We had a total number of 52 cars taking part and well over 400 spectators coming to witness the event.

It was a high number for us and we are happy that the turnout is increasing.

We will continue to improve ourselves as far as getting more clubs involved with the FMA is concerned. We now have 10 clubs.

The second series of the Pacific Energy Drag race was won by Ravin Nath.

The second fastest was Shonal Sharma and the third fastest was guru Roy Singh.

For ladies, Shelly Nath had the fastest time of the day, Mahezabeen Khan was the second and Rozita Nath was the third.

Full results of the race can be found on our FMA Facebook page .

We had five female drivers taking part in the last event. We are expecting more ladies to take part as the year progresses.

You don’t have to have a sports car to compete.

These females have been regulars during last year’s competitions as well.

Our next Pacific Energy is now confirmed for Sunday May 16. This will be Series 3.

We are hoping to run at least seven more races after this event. Club Toyota again won the inter club challenge trophy and that is now their second in a row.

Road Safety

Once again I would like to encourage drivers to practice safe driving on our roads.

Remember, you are not only risking your own life, but also that of the passengers travelling with you, other road users and pedestrians.

Try to always leave early for any destination and you won’t have to rush or speed.

Have a safe weekend.
