Bring on Navua, says Nadi coach

- WAISEA NASOKIA NADI Edited by Leone Cabenatabua

The Napolioni Qasevakatini captainedNadi football side are wary of their encounter against giant-killers Navua in Sunday’s Digicel Premier League clash at the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour, Deuba.

This was after Navua upset Ba 1-0 at the same venue last Sunday.

Nadi coach Shalen Lal said travelling away from home is always a daunting task compared to playing at front of their fans.

“We will see the best team for our next outing against Navua,” he said. “Looking at the next match, Navua as usual are the giant-killers, let the game come my boys will be ready.

“Of course for me more hardwork to be done because of the Easter break.

“Some of my boys lacked fitness and it was shown during the match against

Labasa.

“We were caught up in the last 15 minutes of play. Well, this is football and whoever plays better in the day wins.” Crafty midfielder Christopher Kumar and Ashneel Kumar are expected to return to the starting line-up after they both copped cards in their previous matches.

“We will see how they are in the team, in terms of their fitness,” the coach said. Lal remained surprised to watch Nadi fans coming out in big numbers to support the team in the past weeks.

Lautoka top the points table with 10 points ahead of Rewa and Nadi who are both on eight points. Ba, Labasa and Suva are on seven.

In other games this Sunday, Suva host undefeated Labasa at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

Rewa travel to face Ba at the Churchill Park, Lautoka on Sunday at 1 pm followed by Lautoka, Nadroga clash at 3 pm.
