Disciplinary measures to be taken if Police oFfiCErs Don’t Follow protocols

Women in Business requests all women to push the vaccination drive for Fiji.

In a release, organisation president Dr Nur Bano Ali said vaccination was the only way out of this pandemic and the difficult time that Fiji is going through.

“We cannot afford to lose employment for women as they are the easy target when it comes to reduction of payroll costs because of the lower ranking jobs that they hold,” she said.

“So women must lead the charge to protect their families, their jobs and bringing our economy back on track.

“Get vaccinated yourself and tell others to do the same.”

Disciplinary measures will be taken if Police officers do not follow protocols while on duty or in self-isolation.

Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said Police officers were well aware of what they were supposed to do in following rules and protocols.

“They need to abide by the protocols while on duty or in isolation. If the Police officers breach protocols and measures taken by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, they know that disciplinary measures will be taken against them,” Acting Commissioner Tudravu said.

Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, Dr James Fong said the people who share your home were the only people with whom you should share close contact.

“In everything you do, you must respect the rules we’ve put in place to protect you. We can’t send authorities into every community every hour of the day to enforce those rules to the letter. That responsibility rests with you. And we will play our role,” Dr Fong said.
