Ministry to explore swab drive-through next

- WATI TALEBULA-NUKU SUVA Edited by Caroline Ratucadra

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services’ Head of Fiji’s COVID-19 Vaccination Taskforce Dr Rachel Devi says there is a chance for them to explore the swab drive-through.

This is after they saw the success of the vaccination drivethrough which is currently done at Albert Park and Fiji National University Nasinu Campus in Valelevu.

Dr Devi said they had a good vaccination response from the maritime islands.

“Cicia is one of the islands where everyone wants to get vaccinated and this is good. Their family members from overseas and the sessions they have been having with the doctors on the Bula Ko Lau Facebook page has encouraged them to get vaccinated,” Dr Devi said.

Dr Devi said a private plane had been helping distribute the vaccines to Lomaloma and Cicia.

She added Lomaiviti was one of the first maritime islands where they started the vaccination drive. Rotuma islanders are very keen to get the jab as soon as the vaccines arrived to the island.
