FREQUENT SHOPPER WINS $50,000 NEW CAR
A43-year – old market vendor along Salua Road of Nakasi was lost for words when he was announced the winner of a brand new $50,000 Renault Captur.
This was made possible through the ‘Buy to Win Promotion’ by MH and MaxVal-u Supermarket in collaboration with Goodman Fielder.
The draw for the new French manufactured Renault Captur was held on Saturday at the MHCC complex in Suva.
Sada Nand from Nakasi was announced the lucky winner.
Mr Nand is a frequent shopper at MaxVal-u Supermarket in Nakasi because he finds it convenient as it is closer to his home.
“I was at my stall just doing my daily work of looking after my shop and selling vegetables when I received the call and I just could not believe my luck that I won a new car,” Mr Nand said.
He used to use his sister’s car to transport his vegetables to and from home.
“I have been farming for more than 20 years now and I really appreciate MH and MaxVal-u supermarket and Goodman Fielder for organising such a promotion that allows people to win something like this,” said Mr Nand.
Draw extended
Carpenters Fiji Limited retail and marketing director Kunaseelan Sabaratnam said nearly half a million entries were received for the promotion.
Mr Sabaratnam said because of the current COVID restrictions, the duration of the promotion had to be extended.
He said the ‘Buy to Win Promotion’ ran from March 10 and was supposed to end on June 6 but was extended to July 4.
“For every purchase of $20 or more on any Crest or Tuckers product, the customer gets into the draw by sharing their names and contact details to the cashier which was then entered into the system for drawing,” he said.
Mr Sabaratnam said only two Renault Captur cars were in Fiji, one of which was won by another customer from a separate promotion in Christmas last year.
He said another draw is planned for the Mother’s Day promotion.
