Snack Food Packs For Frontline Workers in CWM Hospital, FEMAT

Frontline workers at the Colonial War Memorial (CWM) Hospital and the Fiji’s Emergency Medical Assistance Team received a light boost.

Fiji-based expats and their families and friends, led by Jessica and Paul Welsh, joined the Colonial War Memorial Hospital Board of Visitors to help with the provision of weekly snack food packs for our frontline workers and medical staff in CWMH, FEMAT and some health centres in Suva. These frontline workers have been working long hours and have not been home or seen their families for a very long time.

Board of visitors chair Esther Batiri Williams said: “On behalf of the Minister of Health and Medical Services, we are very grateful for the help the Board has received from this group of generous expat families helped by New World and Nestle Fiji Limited. This group heard about what our team was doing and offered to help, “trying to do our little part”. They are so emotional about the present situation in Fiji and were glad to help in this initiative providing resources and their time.

“This small gesture will make such a huge difference to the many frontline workers in Suva. You cannot realise just how much they are doing to keep us and all our families safe.

“I thank my team, of the CWMH Board of Visitors, for their time and resources amidst the challenges.

“We thank all who have joined us in this effort responding generously.

“We thank and pray for all our frontline workers, for the gift of your time caring for the many who are sick and suffering.

“The Minister of Health and Medical Services warmly thanks you all for your generosity.” Source: Colonial War Memorial Hospital Board of Visitors
