Pacific harbour’s first ever drive through screening clinic for residents and nearby communities has been a success.

Clinic’s sister-in-charge Iliseva Labalaba said the overall response from the public for day one of the three day screening was good.

“Drive-through screening clinic allows people to get swabbed for COVID-19 in the comfort of their own vehicles,” she said.

Asenaca Yako, 36, said she was fully vaccinated but she made sure to attending the screening process.

“I could not attend work in Suva since the lockdown in April and now I am making sure I am fully protected before the boarders open,” Ms Yako said.

She said the drive through idea was great and convenient for many.

She advised others to take advantage of these clinics.

Another resident Matt Cauty 39, shared the same sentiments and thanked the Ministry of Health frontliners for their hard work and sacrifice.

“The faster we get back to normalcy the better for everyone,” Mr Cauty said.

Minister of Health and Medical Services Dr Iferemi Waqanibete is encouraging all Fijians to take advantage of such surveillance and screening clinics around the country.

“All medical facilities have the screening facilities available and in addition drive through clinics are set to assist larger number of Fijians,”Dr. Waqanibete said.

The three day screening clinic is open to residents of Lepanoni, Makosoi, Waidradra Village and Pacific Harbour section A, B and C.
