- SHREYA KUMAR Feedback: shreya.kumar@fijisun.com.fj

The general manager for Alpha Investments Pte Limited wears multiple hats. Stanley Chand is a pharmacist, now running his family business.

The 29-year-old said growing up, he was able to grasp many business tactics from his father.

Now, he manages Alpha Investments Pte Limited, which is a wholesale trade and property development company.

Mr Chand said he has been in the business for the past eight years.

“I worked briefly at a pharmacy following my graduation from Fiji School of Medicine,” he said.

“But I would always have a knack for operating a business as I grew up with it.”

What are some of your hobbies?

My hobbies include having a few drinks with my friends, making friends, and research about different fields of businesses.

I feel like life is filled with risks and if one doesn’t take those risks, they would never know the opportunities that lie behind them.

How many places in Fiji have you been to?

I have been around Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and the Yasawas.

What is the one place in Fiji that you would take every visitor to, and why?

I would take them to Savusavu.

It is known as the hidden paradise of Fiji.

Such a serene and beautiful environment – basically one will be able to experience nature at her truest sense there.

What is your favourite place for a pie/ coffee, and why?

I love my coffee at The Coffee Hub in Nadi Back Road.

And for pies, it would be the newly opened Portside Coffee in Marine Drive, Lautoka.

What is your favourite secret backyard spot, and why?

It would be having a few drinks with my friends at the Northern Club in Lautoka.

What is the one spot in Fiji that is on the top of your bucket list, and why?

It would be Levuka, the old capital of Fiji.

It is already declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site so I would like to see how closely history is intertwined with it.
