Investigative reporter and editor Ivamere Nataro, puts out impactful stories that have readers more aware of relevant issues. The investigative project started in August last year and it was something that the Fiji Sun was keen to develop.

“Investigative project are time consuming and expensive. Fiji Sun managemnt was able to get funding support through the Google News iniative.

“More recently, we won a grant from the Pacific AntiCorruption Journalist Network (PACJN) to specifically cover anti-corruption stories.

One of the most impactful series highlighted the plight of sexually abused rural women in the North. It spotlighted failures by authorities and women’s organisations. It led to action by the authorities.
