Stage 1 of the Namalata housing project which will link Nakasi to Lokia has been delayed. With the current COVID situation, China Village Estate Development (Fiji) Limited had to temporarily put on hold the housing development.

Project o fficer Waisake Sivoi Naiduki said during the lockdown period, there were no visits to the construction site.

“Our development has been put on hold for now as we are currently working on our engineering plan. We have made our first submission to the Fiji Roads Authority and they have given their comments, so with those comments, we should be able to make our final adjustment before lodging to town planning.”

He said so far five new customers have purchased lots in addition to the 34 customers who have already made purchases.

“The real estate market in Fiji is still active. As for us we still receiving calls, emails and also on Facebook from interested clients,” he said.

The housing development started earlier this year where the company had spent over $8 million in the land acquisition at No.3, Lokia, Rewa.

“It will be a real estate development subdivision with real economic viability in par with the development phases by government for a better Fiji for all.

“It was to develop a total of 860 residential lots, road construction including the main road from Stage 3 near Sauniwaqa and towards Stage 1 in Lokia.

“We believe we offer an opportunity to all

Fijians of owning property because of the price that we offer. With the government assistance in housing, Fijians can make use of it to build their home once they secure a lot from us,” he said.

The land in Namalata was an ideal option for the company to develop as it is located in an area declared rural but is quite a short distance from major commercial centers in the Central division.

With the population growth in the Nasinu and Nausori corridor, China Village Estate Development (Fiji) Limited aims to accommodate those who are in need to buy a property.
