While many churches have reopened, some will resume their services in the coming weeks.

Fully vaccinated church members flocked to houses of worship yesterday after months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was made sure that everyone that entered churches to have their vaccination cards, wear masks and keeping a distance from the person they are sitting next to.

World Harvest Centre Associate Pastor, Pastor Kolinio Boila said they had a good response from church members yesterday.

“About 700 members attended two services this morning and were well spread out in the 3000-seat auditorium,” Talatala Boila said.

“All protocols were followed. A team from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services reviewed our protocols last Friday and assisted in the preparation for service.

“They were also on deck to help in the monitoring today. There was checking of cards at all entry points.

“Some unvaccinated members attended but were catered for outside while others joined online from home.

“More members will join over the next few weeks as they get their second jabs.”

While many churches have reopened, some will resume their services in the coming weeks.

Methodist conducts survey

Methodist Church Nasinu Circuit Talatala Isireli Kacimaiwai said they were doing a survey to find out how many people have received double dose, single-dose and those who are yet to get vaccinated have not got their jab.

There are eight churches in the Nasinu Methodist Circuit.

“Today, we did not have the service in Church and members are having their service at home,” Talatala

Kacimaiwai said.

“Members are filling forms that are given to them so that we can know how many have fully vaccinated, how many have taken their first jab and those that have not been vaccinated.

“We are happy that the houses of worship are open but once we get the data together we will then have our church services which will be next week or the week after.”

More than 2000 people attend the eight churches in Nasinu.
