NORTH’S SHRATIKA NAIDU WINS A GLOBAL AWARD
TRAILBLAZING LEADERSHIP, SAYS FIJI SUN PUBLISHER/CEO LOMAS
Another Fiji Sun editor has achieved international success. Our North Editor/Manager Shratika Naidu has become the first Pacific Islander to win a global Elevate fellowship.
50 media professionals from around the world were announced as winners by the International News Media Association (INMA) and the Google News Initiative (GNI). It followed a highly competitive selection process drawing thousands of applications from the news media world.
The recipients receive a year of top training and mentoring opportunities through INMA and GNI.
The Elevate Scholarship programme aims to strengthen the news business by equipping participants with strong digital media industry fundamentals as well as networking and mentoring.
MASTER CLASSES
Ms Naidu’s year-long scholarship includes constant online INMA Master Classes, plus mentoring meetups with INMA and Google experts. INMA membership and access to all its services is an added bonus.

“Shratika is a good example of how our people grow. Since joining us in Labasa in 2009 as a USP student Shratika has studied on a scholarship in India through our partnership with the Indian High Commission. She graduated with distinction from one of India’s premier universities, Savitribai Phule Pune University. She attained post grad qualifications here in Fiji. She went to China through our partnership with the Chinese embassy and graduated from a Young Leaders programme at Guangdong University of Foreign Study.
