Remain Vigilant with Your Children: Qiliho
The Fiji Police Force is reiterating its plea for parents to remain vigilant and ensure clear communication with their children and family this festive season. This follows the numerous missing people’s reports were received by Police in the month of December alone.
Police Commissioner BrigadierGeneral Sitiveni Qiliho has made the call for parents and guardians to be aware of who their children are spending their time with.
“Some children run away from home because of personal issues and we do urge parents and guardians to be mindful of their children’s behaviour and ensure they have a safe space to share their problems,” he said. “In some cases where children have been found staying at a friend or relative’s place; we urge them to liaise with the child’s parents as a precaution in case they are not aware of the plans made by their children.”
Brigadier-General Qiliho has also advised parents to ensure their children are well looked after in the buzz and rush of last minute shopping that will be experienced during this festive season.

3) Be aware of your surroundings and if you feel unsafe, seek help
