Milestone Achievement for Post Fiji

- SHREEYA VERMA SUVA

Post Fiji’s chief executive officer, Anirudha Bansod, said 150th anniversary celebrations of Post Fiji was one of the biggest events after lockdown in Fiji.

With the total of 600 guests and staff who were part of this remarkable celebration, Mr Bansod said it was truly massive gathering and all their guests thoroughly enjoyed.

“We received lots of compli

ments from the staff and guests stating that this was one of the very well-organised with non-stop entertainment and professional celebration,” he said.

“Staff enjoyed the food, kava, alcohol and dances, as Christmas and New Year is coming in a few days’ time. Every guest received the gift which included the stamps and other Post Fiji products.”

Mr Bansod said they had made a committee of internal staff and management team; whose job was to deliver the various events that we planned for this 150th anniversary of postal services in Fiji.

“Apart from all our distinguished guests, our Post Fiji family immensely enjoyed the function. They wished, if no curfew, they could have enjoyed more, as many of them came from various locations and meeting other team members is a joyous moment for them,” he said.

Arrangements

Post Fiji hired two buses through kings and queens highway for staffs coming from the western region to travel from West to Suva, where the function was organised.

The staff came in this bus singing and dancing, which had 150 years Post Fiji Limited’s banners on the buses.

Post Fiji booked the bus to and from four Northern staffs, which include boat ride.

The trip was a bit hectic to our staff, but they enjoyed to the fullest in that short time having thought of Post Fiji 150th anniversary celebrations.

Preparation challenges

Mr Bansod said this was one of the busiest period time for Post Fiji, as it was almost the end of the year.

“We have Back to School, more epackets coming, mail and Christmas pack delivery to the various locations for our customers,” he said.

“Considering a lot of commercial and operational activities, this will be one of the busiest periods for the month of December.

“Our team worked extremely hard to put extra effort to ensure 150 years celebrations goes as per plan and we are glad that we worked hard and achieved the desired celebrations success.”

Black & Gold theme

Black & Gold themes created a very sophisticated look and gave a very elegant feel to mark the 150 years of Post Fiji’s existence.

“The thought of a combination of black and gold was to keep

the celebrations exquisite and divine,” Mr Bansod said.

He said black was such a strong color and for it to be partnered with gold makes it even stronger than ever.

He also said mixing black with gold was a special combination as this brilliant and dazzling colors everything and everyone looked luxurious.”
