Chand ambitious to do more for Post Fiji
Post Fiji’s Acting Head of Finance, Dharmend Chand targets to give more to the company by serving for more years.
Mr Chand, who is among the longest serving staff, has promised to stay committed with Post Fiji in the years to come.
He has been employed in this company for 26 years and he believes that passing down the knowledge and skills to the young ones was very important.
“Teaching the younger generations that we have been here for a long time so they can learn from what we have experienced in different sectors of Post Fiji,” Mr Chand said.
He also commented about the company’s achievement on starting services online.
“The three new systems which the company adopted allowed them to produce reports within minutes,” he said.
“We have implemented the point of sale system, financial system and payroll system in 2014 and with those changes, we have gone online.”
He said there are about 51 postal services which operated online.
“And with the click of a button, within three working days, we were able to produce our financial reports as well as payroll reports,” he added.
Mr Chand said work was done manually back during the time he started.
“We processed everything manually which included doing transactions,” he said.
“We have grown from that to new and improved financial systems that are more efficient.”
He said Post Fiji now has a dynamic team that has done well in supporting the company.
“I feel great to be part of this 150 years celebrations. I would like to thank all the retired staff, the management, the board who have contributed to this milestone achievement of 150 years.”
