Naliva to defend title against Gaunavou
Fijian light heavyweight champion boxer Savenaca Naliva intends to retain his title against Tomu Gaunavou under the South Pacific Boxing Promotions banner at the Prince Charles Park, in Nadi on January 29.
Naliva who won the vacant title from Apisa i Naciqa in December 2020 is ready to put the title on the line.
The Sorokoba, Ba native, says it is a good time for Gaunavou to wrestle the belt away from him as he is ready to defend his title.
“I am looking forward to this bout against Tomu, he is among the upcoming boxers now,” Naliva said.
“I am prepared; just can’t wait to jump into the ring. It should be a good fight, this can be the fight of the year. Boxing fans should not miss this.”
In the other title fight, Shamal Ram Anuj faces veteran Ritesh Gounder for the vacant Fijian super bantamweight title fight (10 x3 min).
This is the second time Anuj and Gounder will be boxing.
