Eden LifeStream ministry works on road access

- WAISEA NASOKIA

The Eden LifeStream Ministry in Solovi, Nadi is working with its stakeholders including the District Office (DO) in Nadi for an access road.

This is after the Ministry met with the Nadi District Officer (DO) Faiyaz Ali on Wednesday to sort out their proposed programmes for the year including their road.

Mr Ali said the meeting was a fruitful one. However, there were few things that were left to be done by the ministry before they could be assisted.

Mr Ali said his office was aware of the NGO’s mission in working with the needy and the unfortunate of Nadi to help them live a meaningful life.

He added their access roads were the first priority and his office would thoroughly look into the project.

“There are over 30 people including children that reside within the ambit of the NGO, roading is very important but the onus is on the

NGO to come up with the funds and they can be assisted,” he said.

Ministry founder and trustee Buli Turaga said the organisation is continuing and trying to up-skill the young people who are living and are dependents and have no other place to go or work.

He said this charitable organisation is seeking assistance from various stakeholders to provide a new direction towards better living for single parents and youths who are taking refuge at the Centre.

“What we do here is borne out of love; it is a divine revelation that we have to take this humanitarian work to do our outreach. There are a lot of beneficiaries,” said Mr Turaga.

Most importantly, Mr Turaga said they are trying to direct them to a door that would lead them to a good life, supporting their families and for their future.

“A lot of people have been assisted by this Centre and we will continue to do so,” he said.

Meanwhile, the NGO was registered in 2017, that’s where they had worked with the street-kids who were found loitering on the street of Nadi town.
