‘A good newspaper is a nation talking to itself’
On this the final day of 2021, Friday, December 31, 2021, I humble myself in JESUS Holy Name, as a true kai Nadi and GOD-fearing Fiji citizen, I beg the Honourable Prime Minister and Attorney General, to please have a heart, show some mercy and true statesmanship, to please allow the remains of the late acclaimed South Pacific academic, Professor Brij Lal to be honourably interred in his home village, Tabia, Vanua Levu.
Be brave. Please show your good and better side, in humility, for the fallen, as we bid goodbye to 2021 and usher in a brand new year, 2022.
Too err; Is human.
Men can achieve a thousand good deeds. Men can also be poorly judged by that one mistake.
Your true statesmanship is now ONLINE, Sirs.
Your hour in the annals of Fiji’s history is clearly before you. Be brave, do the right thing and the name of human rights and justice. It is the one proper & honourable deed to do. Please allow a fallen son of Fiji to be interred in the land of his birth. His wish was to return home, in life. He was denied this by our very own leaders.
Now, in death, please grant him fair winds and safe passage home, to Tabia, Vanua
Levu ...... if you have not bravely done so. Hearts of stone lead us no where.
Pride always comes before a fall.
Be worthy. Be counted, most honourably. The Lord our GOD in JESUS Holy Name, clearly teaches us all:
“Love one another; As I have loved you.” As a peace-loving kai Nadi, I seek your approval on behalf of Prof Brij Lal’s family and his loved ones.!
New Year Honours Norman Yee, Nadi
Here’s hoping the government will be giving an award to our hardworking and committed frontliners.
They have done a mighty job keeping Fiji safe.
And hoping our borders won’t close again. God bless Fiji.
Third Wave Jaheed Buksh, Sigatoka
Dr. Fong was absolutely correct that if necessary precautions won’t be at first place during Christmas than obviously we will have third wave for COVID-19, rapid number of cases are growing daily in North as well as in other areas. We hope a serious decision will be taken for the safety. Stay safe and happy new year to all Fijians.
