The Waterfalls in Taveuni are Places to Be: Deo

Working in the tourism industry not only provides you with satisfacti­on but promotes growth, says Raanil Ravikash Deo.

The manager of Galaxy Hotel and Apartments, and Galaxy Rentals has been working in the industry for 16 years.

He is from Daku, Wainikoro, Macuata, and says that the most rewarding experience was meeting and serving new guests.

The 36-year-old prides himself in being innovative and a team player who has banking and finance qualificat­ions from the Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE).

Things people don’t know about you:

Taveuni is the place where I visit the most just to see the view and admire the nature. if anyone ask me where is the best place to live in I would say Savusavu.

I worked in Namale Resort and Spa in Savusavu as a human resource and payroll officer.

I worked in Hexagon Group in Nadi as a accounts officer

How many places have you visited around Fiji?

While working in various places I have visited all the main towns and cities on two main lands. I have also visited famous villages and settlement­s.

What is the one place in Fiji you would take visitors to, and why?

The waterfalls in Taveuni. It is the most beautiful breathtaki­ng place to be at and to relax your mind.

What is your favourite backyard spot, and why?

Airport Road in Savusavu. That is the place where I grew up with my parents. It holds lot of memories.

What is one place in Fiji that remains on your bucket list, and why?

Levuka and Kadavu. My friends said both are beautiful, not to be missed.
