Uptown boxing star Nathan ‘The Hornet’ Singh plans to fight in Australia after taking on Junior Farzan. He hopes that later this month the COVID outbreak will not stop the fight that is scheduled for January 29 at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

Singh, 22, has four bouts under his belt, withthree wins and one loss since he turned professional in October, 2019. He had a remarkable record in the amateur division.

While speaking to Sun sports Singh disclosed that he has plans after boxing Farzan.

“After Farzan, I want a rematch with Ronal Naidu. Sachin Mudalliar is not going to happen as there will other unnecessary issues,” he said.

“If Ronald Naidu refuses the rematch then we will fly off to Australia to have a couple of fights there against better fighters.

“I’m right now gunning for either Sam Goodman or Caleb Cozac.”

Meanwhile Goodman last month passed his biggest test yet by defeating Richie Mepranum by TKO at the Star Sydney to capture the WBO Oriental Bantamweight title, before Harry Garside began his professional boxing career with his own TKO victory in the first round over Sachin Mudaliar.

“I’ve been at these two’s fight and they don’t have the skill level and also Harry Dazzer.

“People think training is easy - I have had to do some new things.

“My diet plan now is good now compared to last fight

because I didn’t have the funds to cater for my diet essentials.

“It’s difficult, I go as far as drinking my own urine for recovery so that’s how difficult boxing training is.

“Drinking my urine is more like a mental training for me. It’s like I’m doing things that my opponent is not willing to do.

“I know that I’m doing things that he is not able to do, that way I know that I’m preparing better than him.

“I’m taking boxing to the next level and I know there is no other boxer in Fiji like me.

“It was our team’s first public workout, it was more like a promotional basis in terms of upcoming fights. We want the public to know that boxing is alive and it is still going on strong.”
