Tikoilomaloma believes in SODELPA
The youngest SODELPA provisional candidate, Koroi Cakacaka Tikoilomaloma, 28, believes the party has what it takes to lead the country.
He was one of the 28 provisional candidates announced in April.
Tikoilomaloma hails from Makadru, Matuku in Lau with Maternal Links to Navuakece, Naitasiri.
Mr Tikoilomaloma is advocating for more employment opportunities, low-cost housing and better minimum wages.
“More employment opportunities or the up-skilling of our trade skills through vocational centres. Also using schemes through the continued Vuvale agreement with the Australian Government to give our people the opportunities to get a better life for them and their families,” Mr Tikoilomaloma said.
“Low-cost housing through the party policies, having houses available to low-income earners that is conducive to their income and for proper drainage and sanitation for informal settlements.
“Better minimum wages that need to be reviewed in accordance with the cost of living of this country.”
Mr Tikoilomaloma joined SODELPA as one of its first youth members in 2014, during a meeting that took place at the QVSOB club.
“I joined SODELPA on the basis of principle, where they do not condone or entertain coups and their beneficiaries. SODELPA’s first leader was someone who attracted the youths for her commitment and consistency in fighting for democracy,” he said.
“As a lady, Ro Teimumu was subjected to misogynistic views from dominating men and those that did not see women as potential leaders in the political field. As a leader, she inspired many, especially being that beacon of hope prior to 2014.
“SODELPA is still capable of leadership as we’ve been shaken and dragged through the mud ever since, with people coming in with wrong motives and hunger for power, each driven by their own ambitions.
