Lautoka businessman Manoa Sefanaia Saunikalou believes his party has what it takes to win the 2022 General Election.

The proposed party is called the “Kingdom United Party” which was registered on Tuesday.

In accordance with the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act, the Registrar will now process the application.

Mr Saunikalou said bringing people together was one of the party’s objectives.

“The party was formed to help reduce poverty which means there is a need to increase the minimum wage and improve people’s standard of living,” Mr Saunikalou said.

“We support this Government but we believe it is time for a new Government to run the country. Our manifesto is ready and we will be filling the 55 seats.

“Our main focus is the Western Division because this is where most of us are from. We appreciate what the FijiFirst party has done but its time is over and it is time for another party to take over and I believe it is our party.”

Mr Saunikalou said he wanted to form the party to make a difference.

“We will work together with every Fijian to make Fiji a paradise. Fiji shall remain a circular state because we believe everyone

“We are not here to bad mouth another party. We we are here to make a difference and to do better than them. People have come forward wanting to join the party, but we are waiting for the greenlight from Fijian Elections Office before we are able to name them.

“It is time to use the Godgifted talent we have and that is to improve the lives of every Fijian no matter what race or religion they are from. At the end of the day we are all Fijians.”
