Gary Leads Denarau Golf
Top favourite Josh Geary is the overnight leader after round two of the Sheraton Classics 2022 which got underway at Denarau Golf Course yesterday.
He is eleven under after he shot 66 on day one and 67 on day two respectively.
Greary is playing alongside Brad Heaven, Grant Smith and Gerald Peterson as a team.
“I mean it’s a long way, I’m only a couple of shots ahead of them,” he said.
“I had a good day yesterday (Wednesday) but today it was a bit frustrating but played okay. I didn’t score that great. So yeah, two more rounds left.”
“I started mastering three years ago. I mean, it’s obviously amazing weather and you know, we’re pretty lucky to stay in the resorts and sort of have a bit of a holiday as well as playing,” he added.
“It’s a good vibe, a bit more social, everyone’s kind of here enjoying themselves. So it’s less stressful and a little less intense than most tournaments, which is nice. I like that kind of vibe and playing and catching up with mates. It’s all very good fun.”

More than 200 golfers from Australia, New Zealand, US and Fiji converged on Denarau Island to participate at this event.
The International Pro-Am tournament is the largest in Fiji and the South Pacific that has been a resounding success over the years since its inception.It serves as a breeding ground for budding golfers.

Fiji and major sponsors such as Luxury Escapes and Sigatoka Electric including additional support from other local sponsors enable the organising team to stage a premier golf event.
Pacific Golf Management managing director Richard Ellis said that this year’s event was a sell out and about 80 percent of players that played in previous years are back again this year.
“The Fiji event is always a draw card. We have the likes of Glen Joyner who won in the US on the Seniors Tour last week and is also part of the starting line-up. The next few days will be exciting to watch.”
