Situation : A trough of low pressure to the west of Fiji continues to move east towards the group. Associated cloud and showers expected to affect the country from later tonight.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji Group:

Today: Occasional showers and squally thunderstorms with heavy falls. Showers gradually clearing from the west into the night. Moderate to fresh east to southeast winds. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for tomorrow: Brief showers over the greater Suva/Nausori and Tailevu areas, Interior Naitasiri, Serua, Namosi, Cakaudrove, southern Bua, Lau and Lomaiviti groups and Kadavu. Elsewhere, fine apart from possible afternoon or evening showers. Cool at night.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori:

Today: Occasional showers and squally thunderstorms with heavy falls. Outlook for tomorrow: Brief showers. Cool at night.

For Sigatoka / Coral coast: Today:

Occasional showers and squally thunderstorms with heavy falls. Showers gradually clearing into the night.

Outlook for tomorrow: Fine apart from possible afternoon or evening showers. Cool at night.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Today:

Occasional showers and squally thunderstorms with heavy falls. Showers gradually clearing into the night.
