Kavalicious for Aussie Trade Mission
Kavalicious Taveuni has been selected by Investment Fiji to participate in the Fiji Investment and Trade Mission in Australia.
The trade mission will be on July 18 to July 22 in Sydney and Brisbane.
The Nadi-based business specialises in Kava made products including kava chocolate and cookies.
This week, the business expanded to making kava slushie and popsicles.
Founder, Ana Malumuvatu, has been exploring her ideas to put out new products.
“This popsicles was the idea of my son, who one day said to me, let’s try this, I said why not,” she said.
“Also I have been working on slushie too for some time now. all the ingredients are fresh and locally bought. In this business chain we do get farmers too to be involved.
“It is sugar free and there are some ingredients used are lime, mint, ginger, coconut water, and 50 percent kava,” she said.
ygap is an international organisation that creates positive change by making entrepreneurship more.
For the slushie the ingredients are Sour-soup, apple, coconut water, vanilla, mint and contains 50 percent of kava.
“We have launched these new products which are all done here and hoping to be recognised in Fiji and internationally as well.
“We are in the process of getting a pharmaceutical company to do various tests for the products, which is for a fact costly once this is done then we are looking forward to exporting it to the Australia market as a first.
“I have been surprised that a few Kava lovers in Australia have visited me and taken a tour of my small factory set up. they have agreed to come on board to market and sell it in their suburbs.”
Ms Malumuvatu is looking forward to being part of the expo in
Australia next month.
“I am excited to be part of the Fijian group to accompany our Minister for Tourism and Trade in this expo,” she said.
