Volleyball into elimination rounds

-

Fight for domination in respective divisions is building up in the sixth round of the Rexona 2022 Mixed Volleyball Business League competitions taking place at the National Netball Centre in Suva on Wednesday night.

Tournament organiser Alan Kumar of Bula Events Group said an electrifying atmosphere was witnessed as teams were battling for early domination in the cup, plate, bowl and shield categories in the elimination rounds respectively.

Kumar said the Rexona sponsored volleyball league was gaining great momentum with four more weeks left before the finals.

“Every team came out firing last night (Wednesday) to gain entry to round seven with team Narsey’s Plastics emerging as tournament favourites to win the main cup category with the highest number of wins,” Kumar said.

Team Narsey’s Plastics manager and coach Bernard Filipo believes his team is in the right direction to win the main cup tournament of the volleyball league.

“It is all about team work and working in collaboration with members because it is the team work which makes the dream work in achieving the common goal,” Filipo said.

“We are taking one game at a time and for us every game is treated like we are playing the final and that has been the reason for our success so far.”

Filipo has been impressed with the level of competition, participation and professionalism with how the games are being conducted.

“I encourage and invite all volleyball fans to come up here on Wednesday evenings to be part of this wonderful atmosphere.”

The seventh round of the pool games of the Rexona 2022 Business House Mixed Volleyball League will continue at the same venue next Wednesday.
