ISSUED FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE NADI AT 3:30PM ON THURSDAY THE 30TH OF JUNE 2022

Situation: A weak trough of low pressure lies slow moving over Fiji and is gradually moving eastwards away from the country. Meanwhile an east to southeast wind flow prevails over the country.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji Group:

Cloudy periods with brief showers over the greater Suva, Nausori and Tailevu areas, Interior Ra, Naitasiri, Serua and Namosi, Cakaudrove and southern Bua, Lau and Lomaiviti groups and Kadavu. Elsewhere, fine apart from possible afternoon or evening showers. Afternoon or evening thunderstorms possible over most places.

Moderate to fresh east to southeast winds. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for tomorrow: Over Land areas of Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, Yasawa and Mamanuca group, coastal areas of Rakiraki, Qamea, Cikobia and Qelelevu, eastern Taveuni, Cakaudrove and southern Bua: Expect southeast winds with average speeds of upto 50 km/hr.

Elsewhere, moderate to fresh southeast winds.
