Supervisor of elections, Mr. Mohammed Saneem, officially launched the e-vuli media platform at the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) media centre.

“The e-vuli platform is designed to help the media in covering the 2022 general election.

“All training material has been developed with the assistance of iPHASE.

“In the 2014 and 2018 elections, the FEO conducted a three-day Face to face workshop at Holiday inn. Unfortunately, not many of the media organisations attended, however, this platform will enable journalists to build capacity at their own pace and in their own time,” he said

“The e-vuli platform will require you to register and provide your details, you will get your own login and you can access and continue this course at your own pace.”

The platform is user-friendly and is no different from the university platform, where users will have to go through the courses before attempting the 10-minute multiplechoice questionnaire.

The platform is also available to any individual who wishes to undertake this training for the media and this training is also available to students who are studying to be a journalist.

iPHASE has also ensured that FEO provides members of the media, in Fiji particularly, with the latest information regarding international developments of best practices for elections.

The training will not be compulsory, but the FEO supervisor encourages journalists to go through this training to get the latest and most current information in relation to the 2022 general election.

Ending his speech, Mr. Saneem said, it is also the media’s responsibility that the election is free, fair and credible.
