Nadroga up the tempo

The Joseph Nand coached Nadroga football side will leave no stones unturned when they face neighbours Nadi in the Digicel Premier League round 11 fixture at the Lawaqa park in Sigatoka tomorrow.

This is after the Stallions side was held 1-all by Navua in the round 10 fixture at the same venue on Thursday night.

Both teams went into the breather scoreless but the versatile Brian Charitar opened the account for the visitors.

Veteran Osea Vakatalesa­u came off the bench in the last 20 minutes did assist in the team attack.

Not too long the hosts bounced back and equalised through Jibola Afonza with five minutes towards the end of the match to at least take a point from the encounter.

Nand said, “We did some positional changes but it did not help but it functioned at the end of the match. Navua had a grand defending strategy.”

Nadroga will play Nadi at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka tomorrow at 3pm.

“We expect this match against Nadi to be tough. We urge the fans to come out in numbers as we might have the needed surprise,” he said.

Fiji FA has confirmed that there will be a triple-header fixture at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Tailevu Naitasiri hosts Nasinu at 11.30am, followed by

Suva taking on Ba at 1.30pm, and then Rewa battles Labasa in cracker at 3.30pm.

Tomorrow, Navua takes on t Lautoka side at the Uprising Sports Centre, Pacific Harbour.

Meanwhile, Nadroga Football Associatio­n is mourning the loss of their talented and rising star Jeet Singh, a year 13 student of Cuvu College. He had played for the Nadroga Youth (U19 side).

According to a Police statement, the 18-year-old was found motionless outside his girlfriend’s residence in Waiqali, Maro, Nadroga on Thursday morning. It is believed to be suicide case with Police waiting for post morten with investigat­ion is underway.
