The Ba Football Association received a major financial boost before the start of its 2022 Pacific Community Cup campaign.

Association finance director Zainal Ali received $10, 000 from All in One Restaurant director Sulendra Raju in Nadi yesterday.

Ali said this is a timely sponsorship from the Nadi based- restaurant.

“We thank them for the big sponsorship,” he said.

“We are playing this tournament, basically, just to help Wow Kids get the revenue that the Fiji Football Association promised to hand over.”

Ali said the tournament is also an opportunity to expose their players before the start of the new season.

Raju said the Pacific Cup was generated in New Zealand and it was good to see that it is embraced by the Fijian football community.

“It is good to have this legacy carry on. This is a big boost for Ba football as I want to see them be very competitive,” he said.

“This Pacific Community Cup brings the people of Fijian heritage together and gives them an opportunity to mingle around with everyone.”

Meanwhile, Ba is in Group A with AuFFI All-Stars, host Nadi, and USA

All Stars.

The other Group A dubbed as the pool of death includes Suva, Labasa, defending champions Lautoka and NZFFI All Stars.

Meanwhile, 4R Ba FC will face Police FC in the final of the Ba FA Local League this week.

This was after former champions 4R FC edged YCF 1-0 while Police FC beat Flying Arrows FC 2-0 in the semi-finals last weekend.
