FPFL officially launches Fiji’s Own Worcestershire Sauce
As a company operating for over 35 years, Food Processors (Fiji) Pte Limited (FPFL) is a true example of a Fijian-owned company.
With so many successful initiatives and projects carried by Food Processors, the company has launched Fiji’s Own Worcestershire Sauce”, a Pacific Crown product of Fiji, signifying accomplishments for FPFL.
The product was launched at Shop N Save Supermarket in Navua on Friday, November 11 by the Chief Guest- Board Director of Food Processors (Fiji) Pte Limited, Priyashni Chand.
During the launch, Ms Chand highlighted: “Through research and development of Worcestershire sauce, the initial trial was carried out in 2020.
“The product was successful after the trial and shelf life was tested. The product consists of 80 per cent of our local ingredients with a shelf life of 3 years and is 100 per cent vegetarian sauce.”
She said companies like, Food Processors, had given the Fijian brand exposure domestically and internationally.
“This provides other Fijian companies
the confidence they need to carry on with their research and development and launch unique and innovative products. Now is the perfect opportunity to buy and produce more locally,” she said.
Ms Chand also addressed Food Processors had continued to support, develop and keep the Fijian value chain alive.
“The production lines not only provide jobs for Fijians, but also support Fijian farmers who toil the land for fruits, vegetables, root crops and those who engage in farmed marine products,” she added.
She said: “Over 60 per cent of the staff are women, so you’re an excellent representation of women’s empowerment too.
“I commend Food Processors for breaking barriers in the workplace by encouraging the employment of women along their production line.”
She concluded her remarks by thanking the Management of Food Processors, who facilitated the development of this plan.
“With these words, it gives me much pleasure to launch the “Fiji’s Own Worcestershire Sauce” and wish Food Processors (Fiji) Pte Limited all the best for the future business endeavors,” she added.
