Indian scholarship out soon
Scholarships for 2023-2024 Indian Council for Cultural Relations are expected to be released between December and January.
This was announced during the first ICCR Alumni Meet at the Tanoa Plaza Hotel in Suva on Saturday.
The last date of application is around April 2023.
At the gathering, where more than 50 alumni were present, chief guest High Commissioner of India to Fiji, Shri P.S.Karthigeyan congratulated the lot on their extraordinary success and immense contributions to the nation building efforts in Fiji.
Four of the alumni from various disciplines including culture, journalism, law and engineering shared their personal accounts of life in India as an ICCR scholar and their vastly enriching experience in India.
Underlining the special relationship between India and Fiji and the high importance given to capacity building in the bilateral development partnership, Shri Karthigeyan urged the youth of Fiji to make full use of the given opportunities to acquire world class education and learning experience.
Alumni, Naqsheema Ali, thanked everyone that made the event possible.
“It was an enjoyable event. It was great to meet everyone and hear about their experiences in India. I hope that this is just the start of the alumni network,” Ms Ali said.
“It was a great meet and thanks to ICCR for organizing it as it took us back to our good days in Bangalore and in India which was a home away from home.”
Every year, ICCR allocates 20-25 fully-funded scholarships for Fijian students and 12-15 scholarships for the concurrently accredited Countries -Tonga, Tuvalu and Kiribati.
