- Laiseana Nasiga Feedback: laiseana.nasiga@fijisun.

The legal profession has involved and there is an increase in demand for lawyers to offer a wide variety of services.

With this demand, there has also been a steady increase in the number of law graduates in the country.

To help meet this growing demand, Fiji National University is offering its new Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice programme.

Our GDLP programme serves as an important component not only for FNU Law students, but to any law student from Fiji’s three universities who may wish to complete their GDLP.

Since the GDLP is a requirement for Bar Admission and majority of our graduates study law so they be admitted to the Bar and practice law, it made sense to offer the programme for the benefit of law graduates.

Students will be trained in the more practical aspects of legal practice and comprises of several courses which focus on the various areas of legal practice including civil and criminal litigation, labour litigation, employment matters, probate matters, drafting of legal documents, conveyancing, mediation and so forth.

The programme is accredited by the Board of Legal Education, as required by law, and offers law graduates an excellent opportunity to further their studies past the Bachelor of Laws stage and fulfill the legal requirements in order to seek admission to the Bar at the High Court in Fiji.

A law degree or qualification can give graduates the skills to be a successful lawyer but also a successful producer, politician, manager, journalist, diplomat or police officer.

A law degree equips you for almost any profession that requires intellectual strength combined with a practical approach to the world. com.fj
