Port of Suva Scoop Award Amongst Top Ports

Port of Suva has scooped the Oceania’s Best Cruise Terminal 2022 at the World Cruise Awards, two years in a row now.
The World Cruise awards is a global initiative to recognise and reward excellences in the cruise industry.
Last year Port of Suva was also nominated and had also won the Oceania’s Best Cruise Terminal 2021 award.
As the Port managing company for the Port of Suva, Fiji Ports Corporation Limited (FPCL) Chief Executive Officer Vajira Piyasena was proud of the fact that Port of Suva was recognised for such a prestigious award.
He said Port of Suva was up against many other esteemed Ports of Call’s in the Pacific twice in a row.
“At FPCL we strive to work on the port infrastructure, facilities and ensure the best services is always provided to our customers and guests,” said Mr Piyasena.
“This year in August, it was the first time in two years since borders opening and both the Port of Suva and Port of Lautoka were host to such grand cruise vessels such as Carnival Explorer and Carnival Splendor. We look forward to welcoming more cruise vessels to our shores.”
The World Cruise Awards aims to foster growth, innovations, and best practice in the cruise sector on a global scale. Its program covers a full spectrum of the global cruise sector.
Categories include Best Cruise Line, Oceania’s Best Cruise Destination (Fiji also won for 2022), Best Cruise Terminal, Best Cruise Travel Agency, and Best River Cruise Ship. Nominees range from small companies and start-ups to global brands.
The Port of Suva was up against the Port of New Castle (Australia), Port of Auckland (New Zealand), and Sydney Harbour (Australia). Fiji also won Oceania’s Best Cruise Destination 2022.
