Santa and costume Roadside pollution Copycat

-

Floyd Robinson, Nasese

In the current heat, which is scorching and unbearable, our favourite Santa may need to adjust his costume.

It would be nice see him dressed in ‘Sulu’ and a ‘Bula’ shirt, with a neatly woven hat made from coconut leaves.

I am sure he would not mind a colourful ‘tekiteki’.

This heat is something else and its best to continue with extra intake of fluids.

Don’t be surprised if children find Santa snoring under a big mango or ‘vaivai’ tree.

My favourite in this weather is the ‘Bu’ juice. Enjoy the weekend but stay cool and safe!

I must thank the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) for its efforts in the upkeep of our roads in the country. I must also thank the FRA’s grass cutting subbies, who keep the road reserves well-trimmed.

However, I am equally disturbed to see the volume of rubbish that is so visible after every trimming, (only) by these FRA subbies.

Driving for one or two minutes out of each town and city, I would always see wrappers, plastic bottles or takeaway packs, etc and no one can deny the fact that they have been disposed of by passengers or pedestrians.

I know for sure it will be rather impossible to educate our people against pollution because it’s in our DNA.

So, I call on the good chief executive of FRA to include in the scope of works for the subbies the proper collection of grass that is cut and the other trash as well, please?

Biman Prasad appears to be copying the FijiFirst policies during his campaign speeches. He says NFP will provide stability.

Stability was part of the change FijiFirst delivered when it won the election in 2014, and we continue to enjoy that stability today.

He is a professor in misleading and misinforming the people of Fiji.
