Wivou, who is based in Dubai, arrived into the country on Sunday.

She is expected to play in a few tournaments while here and will also be at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva.

“I’m excited to play in Fiji after more than a decade,” she told

While her close relatives and friends reside here, she has not had the opportunity to visit Fiji while working her way on to the Ladies LET Access Tour in Europe.

She is also recovering from a serious knee injury of a torn ACL in 2020. Her travelling was also affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wivou has been on a long road to recovery and started to work her way back onto some tour events.

“The idea is for me to get some exposure and reconnect with some of my friends in Fiji, on and off the golf course,” she added.

“It has been more than 10 years since I last played an event in Fiji.”

As a female golfer of Fijian descent, it brings her great joy to be able to give back to the game that

she is so passionate about.

“The idea to get my mind rested and relaxed with the help of some island life.

“I will also be playing a few rounds in Fiji. I will be sharpening my game and getting ready for the 2023 schedule and the upcoming tournaments on the Ladies Sunshine Tour.

“In terms of competition, it is important as it drives my focus, intention and all related aspects on the golf course.”

Wivou turned professional in 2018 through the Women’s Professional Golf Association in Australia (WPGA).

Wivou was born on June 10, 1994, in Sydney, Australia. She was a Fijian of Indian Origin but raised in the United Arab Emirates. She is based at Ras Al Khaimah.
