The four boxers fighting in Saturday night’s title bouts in Nadi will have no problem in making the required weight limits.

The assurance came yesterday from South Pacific Boxing Promotions promoter Fred Chand.

He indicated that crafty Robin Hazelman should have no problem in making the 72.5 kilogramme limit against Jese Ravudi for the vacant Fiji middleweight title fight.

“Jese (Ravudi) is a natural middleweight boxer,” Chand said.

“Hazelman moved his training camp to Navua where he has been doing his daily workout. He is fit and should be ready for Jese on Saturday.”

The main supporting bout where the Fiji lightweight title is at stake, Chand says, Junior ‘The Razor’ Farzan Ali and Krishneel Mudaliar are within the 60kg limit.

“When I weighed them after they signed their contract, a month ago, they were hitting 61kg on the scale so they should have no problem at all.”

Krishna, in an earlier interview, said he was working on his fitness because that would be crucial against a veteran like Farzan.

In the undercards, one of the interesting bouts feature heavyweight boxer Semi Dauloloma who is making his professional debut. He takes

Dauloloma has been dubbed the ‘knockout king’ in amateur boxing and a win over Kavika would light

up the heavyweight division.

Also, another amateur boxing star Jonathan Hill is making his professional debut against seasoned Sireli Navua of Lautoka in the super middleweight division.

Hill’s older brother Winston Hill was the 2018 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and knocked out Rakuro Dauvavana in the third round in his professional debut in Suva in September.

Chand called on fans to be at the official weigh-in on Friday at the Nair’s Dais in Nadi at 3pm.

“This is where fans can watch the boxers step on the scale and later meet them,” he added. The programme on Saturday starts at 5pm.
