348,338 Bonus Payout to Workers

The Fiji Pine Group (FPG) of Companies declared a gross bonus payout of $348,338.39 to 331 employees on a performanc­e pay basis out of 435 employees.

The FPG through the various reforms continues to look after the welfare of its workers.

During the 2 years of COVID-19 pandemic our workers continued to be employed, receive increments and year-end bonuses.

Performanc­e Based recognitio­n system has been in discussion for more than a year and after extensive awareness the FPG implemente­d this in 2022.

There are two key things that are achieved through this methodolog­y:

1) We empower our employees to take control of their performanc­e pays by ensuring that they meet their respective KPI’s.

In the process we provide them regular feedback. We would like to assist our workers in achieving their maximum KPI rating thus maximize on their year-end incentive pays.

2) It is a fair system of recognitio­n where workers with star performanc­e get star reward. It drives productivi­ty and efficienci­es.

FPG has fostered performanc­ebased recognitio­n system which is applicable to all employees purely based on Merit.

Over the past years, the chief executive offier, Vimlesh Kumar said, year-end recognitio­n (bonus) at Fiji Pine Group of Companies was awarded on an “across the board basis” without any assessment of individual performanc­e; this included performers and nonperform­ers. Such a system neither helps the workers nor the employer.

In this world of ever-changing business environmen­t, one needs to be up to par in order to remain afloat.

Systems, processes and ideas need to reflect the ever-evolving business environmen­t. FPG is not immune to these evolvement­s.

Performanc­e pay

To qualify for year-end performanc­e, pay, employees had to cross the minimum KPI assessed rating of 40 per cent.

This year’s maximum potential performanc­e pay was 10 per cent of the base annual pay. The assessed KPI percentage is applied to the maximum potential bonus.

The maximum amount of performanc­e pay that a worker received was $1704.41 and $2262 for weekly and staff positions respective­ly.

We thank all our workers for their hard work in 2022 and we look forward to another productive year come 2023.
