Fiji is going through a paradigm shift in digital transformation. People are maximising on technology to make their personal and professional lives less cumbersome. The government of Fiji introduced the digitalFIJI programme to deploy several citizen-centric applications, enhance the overall ICT infrastructure and build and develop capacity in digital transformation.

The Fijian economy has been highly volatile due to the repercussions on the pandemic. This has made Small and Medium Enterprises more volatile. More than ever, it is imperative to measure the gap between effort and outcome. With the world becoming more digitised, there is a large amount of data collected.

The era of big data brings the need for more effective data analysis and visualisation to get new knowledge and to leverage the benefits of advanced analytics of the volume of data being collected without IT knowledge.

The increasing amount of data collected calls for the need of having better comprehension on the treads and gain important insights from the existing data. Businesses need to learn to be agile enough to understand analytical concepts by using statistical methods, data predictions and machine learning.

These operations were done by developers in the past, but with modern tools at our disposal, people have the liberty to directly do their analysis on their own.

Data visualisation plays an important role in drawing conclusions since it graphically represents the information or data. It is a very useful strategy to address the needs of various types of audiences, since approximately 65% of people are

visual learners.

There are multiple data visualisation tools, such as charts, graphs, and maps that provide a roadmap to present information visually to people, which is more attractive.

It also helps in understanding certain trends and patterns which may be beneficial for strategising the business trajectory. It becomes facile to captivate your audience by presenting visual data to your stakeholders.

To democratise data and analytics and make data-driven perception accessible to employees across a business, data visualisation tools have been essential. In comparison to prior iterations of simpler tools, Power BI software is a conventional statistical analysis software that guide employees by deploying data visualisation tools on their own, without much help from their ICT helpdesk.

One of the best methods for communicating numbers and converting them into conversions is by using data visualisation. Surveys, interviews, A/B testing, first-click interaction testing, competitive analysis, and heuristic analysis are just a few of the UX Research techniques that provide fruitful

outcomes. Being patient when assessing the data is more difficult than just gathering the necessary facts. Basic comprehension is necessary to work with the data, and perseverance is essential to getting good outcomes.

When creating a platform, a welldesigned dashboard is quite helpful. Dashboards are a type of visual representation that include some of the most crucial features or goals.

They are combined into a single screen so that the user may access the necessary information quickly and with little effort. Data visualisation techniques are used to provide data-based insight through dashboards. The dashboard’s successful foundation depends on the effective application of data visualization techniques.

The goal is to make the complicated data understandable visually so that stakeholders may draw conclusions from it.

A Power BI dashboard, usually known as Canvas, is a single page well-designed to contain the most important highlights of the story, making it much easier to view data reports with detail, visualisation being the key here.

Power BI dashboards are particularly practical for continuously showing critical insights that might be lost in data sheets. The good news is that you do not need to be an IT specialist to design one using Power BI, which is used by several enterprises to make informed choices more quickly. Since it is self-service business intelligence, you can create some stunning graphic reports. We need not always have to deal with lifeless data. You can utilise Power BI if you are the type of individual who has to create these reports for management.

Imagine using these reports to guide your judgments. Then, you may click on various aspects of those reports to engage with them interactively and learn more about your results.

Power BI enables you to get information from many sources. It may be retrieved from websites, data warehouses, spreadsheets, SAP, Oracle, or any other source.

Power BI’s artificial intelligence is one of its most amazing capabilities. If you have been working tirelessly to create all these amazinglooking visualisations, one of the best features is the ability to click a button to have your data automatically analysed and a variety of graphs generated. So, you might want to use fast insights to find the perfect solution for the tale you’re working on.

The Department of Information Technology at Fiji National University’s (FNU), National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) has proudly assisted with national capacity building by providing inservice training to the Fijian industries.

Organisations in the business of utility services, government departments and the regional telecommunications companies have greatly benefitted from being trained in Power BI use.
