ISSUED FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE NADI AT 3:38PM ON FRIDAY THE 23RD OF DECEMBER 2022.
Situation: A trough of low pressure remains slow moving to the west of Fiji and gradually drifting towards the group. The associated cloud and showers are expected to affect the group till later tomorrow.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms over most places. Isolated heavy falls expected in the afternoon or evening. Isolated heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. Moderate to fresh east to northeast winds. Moderate to rough seas.
Outlook for SUNDAY:
Some showers over the greater Suva/Nausori-Tailevu, interior Ra, Naitiasiri and Serua, Cakudrove and southern Bua, eastern Taveuni, Lau and Lomaiviti group. Elsewhere, afternoon and evening showers. Isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms and heavy falls likely.
For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected in the afternoon or evening.
OUTLOOK FOR SUNDAY: Some showers and afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
For Sigatoka / Coral Coast:
Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected in the afternoon or evening.
